When you choose a lawyer you have to feel comfortable with the person or you will not have a good experience. It is often difficult to be direct, but that is the best way to find out if your relationship with the attorney will work out for you. For example, you should ask if they will return your telephone calls. The attorney may not be direct in their answer, however, their response will be telling. Do they change the subject? Do they act defensive? Do they rationalize- If I answer all your calls I cannot work on your case. If you believe that one then you deserve the lawyer you end up with. Press further- will you return my calls as soon as you are available. Remember it is your case, you are entitled to discuss it with your lawyer. No one can guarantee results, but you are entitled to discuss what is going on with your social security disability claim with your attorney.

Finally, remember if you are dissatisfied with your lawyer you have the right to hire another lawyer. I consider it a privilege to work with you on your social security case, and I would be glad to discuss your case with you and decide on the best approach to winning.
